Things to do in Lahaina

Also on the West side of Maui, Lahaina is a popular historic town located on the western shores of Maui, Hawaii. Originally the center of the Hawaiian Kingdom and capital city of Hawai’i in the early 1800s, Lahaina later became a major center of whaling activity during its heyday. Herman Melville, author of Moby Dick, was one of the 1,500 sailors who set sail from Lahaina during this era in the middle 1800s. The National Register of History Places has Lahaina listed as a historical site, and Lahaina is brimming with many historical sites of interest, various activities and cultural venues. Sites to See
