Things to Do in Mililani

Located right in the center of Oahu, Mililani Town is made up of under 30,000 people. Sitting on a former plantation and developed in the early 1960s, this city is still pretty young, but boasts of a vibrant local life and culture, and plenty of things to do during your visit.

Nestled in the central valley between Oahu’s two volcanic mountain ranges, Mililani is unsurprisingly naturally beautiful. The city has its own shopping centers, parks, schools, golf courses, and all the other creature comforts you could want.

A local favorite is the Mililani Farmers Market. This weekly market open on Sunday mornings has some of the best produce and local goods around. Go early, mingle with locals, and make sure you try the fresh papaya! There's also the Dole Pineapple Plantation in nearby Wahiawa. Plantation tours are available.

Another great place to visit nearby is Manulele Distillers, the home of KoHana Rum, the state’s first and singular agricole rum distillery. This distillery hosts educational tours, tastings, and is a great opportunity to learn about the history of rum and how it’s made.

Mililani looks not too different from a typical American suburban town, but it is actually the third wealthiest zip code in Hawaii. It has been voted to be one of the best places to live in America by Money Magazine. It’s also a wonderful place to walk around, go on hikes, play watersports, and more. Enjoy Mililani!
